Robyn Steward offers inspirational personal insight into Autism for parent and carers groups , Robyn's fun informative , funny and warm training and speaking work offers parents hope and strategies.

Working with parent groups is a really important part of my work to me. Autism can seem scary at first and the chance to help parents is really important , parent groups are welcome to share me with a local school, college or service to spread the cost.


Autism awarness

A one day course which provides a overview of Autiusm, including some of the academic thinking , autistic community perspective , historical context and practical everyday strategies, giving you a solid base from which too do other autism courses and learning.

Personal perspective 

This can be adapted for the age of the children of the parents in the group , this talk offers a perspective of life from Robyn's perspective but it also gives you the benefit of Robyn's professional experience. 

Gender,Sex and Relationships 

Sex and Relationships can be a difficult topic for parents to approach however it is vital that they do so to keep their young person safe. This course is friendly and sensitive and offers a space to explore the issues young people can experience and what can be put in place to suport young people and keep them selves safe.

Super Safe Living

This workshop looks specifically at safety issues around friendships, sex , romantic relationships , internet and emotions. This workshop is very practical and gives delegates the chance to try activities which can help Autistic people to stay safe. 

This workshop aims to help you be more aware of sensory issues which Autistic people may experience and helps you identify strategies which can help make the world more manageable. 

Sensory Issues

A open Q and A , this has become popular amongst parent groups.Robyn opens with a  short talk about her experiences and opens the floor to questions from parents and careers . Robyn is sensitive and receptive to any questions and comments.

Q and A 

Theory of mind is the ability to understand another persons perspective or point of view , or guess what they might do next , it can often be very difficult for Autistic people, and sometimes their theory of mind development does not match up to their age , in this course we focus on understanding what theory of mind difficulties can look like in prsacticakl terms and ways of overcoming them.
